BRUSH SAW
THINNING
The Brush Saw season starts in the beginning of July, usually a week after the Tree Plant is finished. For our experienced cutters its an exciting time because they know how much money the can earn. For our rookie cutters its the start of a short learning curve, and then with brute force, an appetite for hardwork and the right mind set, its time to make money.
THE
CHALLANGE
You go work in the morning, fire up your saw and start plowing into walls of trees. Swinging your saw with precision you take out certain trees and leave others. A good cutter can move fast, cut with high precision and maneuver their way through the land, while operating with the highest degree of safety.
THE
STRUGGLE
You can expect to be wet most days from either the rain or dew on the trees, or from your own sweat. Working conditions can be very hot as Brush Saw operations primarily take place in the Summer and Fall months.
THE
REWARD
The Brush Saw season is for the determined person who wants to work as hard as they can to earn the most money possible. We operate several Brush Saw camps and the prices paid to the cutter's varies on each contract. The price HRI pays the cutters is per hectare of land that you cut. In general, cutters should earn $200 - $300 per day, with experienced cutters earning more.
